One of Steven Spielberg's most colorful films, Hook is a high-flying adventure from start to finish. Robin Williams delivers a great performance as Peter Banning, the man who forgot that he was once the legendary Peter Pan. Of course, the-all skilled Dustin Hoffman is nothing short of the best Captain Hook ever on screen. Spielberg is infamous for getting great performances out of children, and he deals with many of them in this warm, heartfelt feel good movie (Peter's children and the Lost Boys).
Hook is a magical film that is superbly directed and entertaining for people of all ages.
Hook was nominated for five Academy Awards--Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, Best Makeup, Best Song ("When You're Alone"), and Best Costume Design.
PICTURE
The world of Hook is a magical one filled with color. The look of Neverland is phenomenal, London's atmosphere is beautiful, and all resulting from great production design, contributing to the fascinating look of this film. The quality of the picture is outstanding, as nearly all Spielberg films are.
AUDIO
The surround sound provided on this DVD sounds excellent. It captures the feel of Neverland by both sound and picture. Along with a great score delivered by John Williams, the entertainment is non-stop in Hook.
