Spielberg News: Lane to star in 'CMIYC' Broadway
Mar 19, 2008 - 12:46 PM
'The Producers' starrer, 'Nathan Lane' is to star in a Broadway musical version of Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can.

The Tony Award-winning actor will play police inspector Carl Hanratty - played by Tom Hanks in the 2002 movie. Hanks' character spent the film chasing real-life con artist Frank Abagnale Jr, who was portrayed on screen by Leonardo DiCaprio. Lane reveals, I'm doing a workshop for a new musical by the team who brought you Hairspray - Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. It's based on the book and film Catch Me If You Can. I play the Tom Hanks part. It's a wonderful piece of material. We've been developing it for a few years. Hopefully it will come to fruition.

Thanks to 'Marcela'. Stay tuned as we keep you informed.
