As a crowd celebrated with a music- and movie-filled outdoor party on the Green thrown by the city?s Office of Cultural Affairs Tuesday night, Chapel Street traveled back in time 50 years to double as the set for chase scenes in the next Indiana Jones movie. Shooting begins in town Thursday.

In preparation, the stores along Chapel from College to High streets have been remade to resemble the era ? helped by a previous historic renovation of the district that preserved the original buildings. The original Woolworth?s was further east on Chapel, but no one was quibbling as a mock storefront emerged.

Another report comes from the /www.nhregister.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=18521540&BRD=1281&PAG=461&dept_id=566835&rfi=6"" target=""_blank"">New Haven Register who also interviewed the acrobatic fire-eating female duo that entertained the crowd in New Haven yesterday.

All over the Green and up Temple Street, people were talking about how Chapel Street has been gussied up to look like 1957 and how New Haven will be in the spotlight.

The Aerial Angels, Isabella and Spike, were having fun with the audience, climbing all over Chris Stewart of New Haven and snapping a stalk of celery in half after having a man hold it between his legs.

"" This is my real job, "" Isabella assured the audience. "" Forty-three thousand dollars of student loans ... and I'm in the streets of New Haven wearing spandex and bullwhipping celery out of a man's groin. ""

Shooting for Indiana Jones 4 on location in New Haven, Connecticut, starts tomorrow and will end on July 7th.
