DreamWorks News: Rumor Report: ILM Transformers Footage
Jan 12, 2006 - 02:41 AM
"Earlier today a rumor spread across the Internet about a leaked ILM test footage from the upcoming big budget adaptation of 'Transformers'. Several notable websites posted links to /www.badongo.com/vid.php?file=Transformers+Movi%20%20e+Test+Footage__2006-01-09_tffootage.mpeg&s=black"">this website which contains a video showing a transforming robot along with words ""Property of ILM"".

Because the qualiy of animation was pretty high many fans were ready to accept this as a real thing. However, the director of the movie, Michael Bay has confirmed that it is, indeed, a fake. In an /www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=22178"">interview with Harry Knowels of 'Ain't It Cool News', bay mentioned what while ILM has been doing it's own animation tests for 6 months now, they are actually far more complicated and detailed than then what fans have seen on the Internet.

The film's producer Dan Murphy also posted the following on his website: ""So I get 50 + emails today and phone calls and Ian does and Tom does and Michael does and Steven does and poor ILM does and we are all glad you are excited... it means a lot to us. NONE of our test footage has been leaked yet. We'd tell you if it had. We'd leak it if it was ready and interesting. Sorry, IT IS ALL A FAKE. In some cases a very good fake. But a fake nonetheless.""

'Transormers: The Movie' is currently scheduled to come out Summer 2007.
