After months of anticipation, 'War of the Worlds' DVD is now here in Single Disc and Limited Edition.

Both releases will feature a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks. The only extra on the single-disc release will be a Designing the Enemy: Tripods and Aliens featurette. The two-disc edition will include that, along with an introduction by Spielberg, a four-part production diary documentary, four behind-the-scenes featurettes (The HG Wells Legacy, Characters: The Family Unit of War of the Worlds, Pre-Visualization and Scoring War of the Worlds), some closing words by Steven Spielberg, design and production photo galleries, and the film's theatrical trailer.
