"New York Observer columnist Sara Vilkomerson believes that 'Dreamgirls' is headed for the Oscars.

Vilkomerson is basing her belief on the positive reactions the film has gotten after early screenings. One audience member happily exclaimed that Jennifer Hudson ""killed it"" in reference to her singing the song ""And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going.""

Vilkomerson remarks that it's wonderful to see a musical live up to its ""hype"" after such disappointments as 'Rent' and 'Phantom of the Opera.'
